    Design Assistant

    The ideal candidate will report to the Head Designer and will demonstrate strong working knowledge in apparel design concepts, practices, and procedures. Combines creative skills with diligence, process, and strong communication skills to accomplish design goals. Candidate will have proven success in a Women’s Apparel Design environment. The Design Assistant will partner closely with the sales and operations team, tech team, production team, factory partners, sample makers and fabric vendors to complete all tasks.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Create and maintain detailed pages for all tech packs in PLM. Create technical flat sketching illustrating all construction details. Updates sketch and systems according to fit or style changes.

    2. Vendor partnership and coordination - Send TP to vendors, request samples to stay on calendar for 1st and 2nd protos, SMS order, get price and fabric information from vendor, source with partners for fabric tracking cost, MOQ, lead times, send SMS fabric order to production team, get patterns or yields as needed.

    3. Sample Coordination - Receive samples, maintain design team sample racks for working purposes, fittings, sample barcode print, show prep and meeting prep.

    3. Documentation, organization and calendar- Maintain accurate style data like cost, content, color, update Sample WIP, Design WIP, ERP systems and communicate regularly to hit design calendar deadlines.

    4. Quality control - maintain a strong eye for detail to confirm salesmen samples, production bulk, QC and update samples going out for major trade shows.

    4. Creative contributions to concept, color, body, styling and merchandising- Support Head Designer on areas as needed: trend research, customer feedback via selling reports and sales data, rack merchandising, photoshoot styling, sample shopping, shopping online and in stores, and more.

    5. Support sales and marketing function as it relates to design team contributions to content creation projects, photoshoots, line sheets, major trade shows, markets, sales meetings, etc.

    DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

    ● Design Assistant for Sage the Label

    ● $30-$40/hour + Benefits and Paid Time Off

    • In office, Monday - Friday 9 to 5:30 (or 8:30-5)

    ● Hourly, full time 40 hours/week with Benefits

    ● Overtime, as needed

    REQUIREMENTS:

    ● In Office position Monday-Friday

    ● Minimum 3 years previous experience designing young contemporary or contemporary women’s apparel collections.

    ● Design experience in both knits and wovens including all categories (tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, sweaters, etc)

    ● Stable employment history within the design field

    ● Computer CAD Illustrations

    ● Organized and able to analyze workload and to meet deadlines

    ● Able to facilitate projects from beginning to end

    ● Excellent communicator

    ● Inherently motivated and able to grow and evolve within a team environment

    ● Deep knowledge and experience in ERP systems, Google Drive, Contemporary Calendars, Microsoft, Adobe suite

    ● Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality

    ● An understanding and genuine interest in the Sage the Label aesthetic
